Refrigerated Dryer Questions

Q.  What is the correct refrigerant charge for my machine?

A.  SEE CHART

Q.  Air is constantly leaking out of the drain on my dryer, what can I look for?

A.  Chances are the drain solenoid valve has debris in it, which causes it to leak. Taking the solenoid apart and cleaning it usually will remedy the problem.

Q.  The High Temp light on my dryer is on constantly, how can I fix this? (hot gas dryers only)

A.  Adjust the hot gas valve 1/2 turn at a time, counter clockwise until its operating at the correct temperatures and pressures. If the unit is refrigerating properly, then the high temp sensor may be defective.

Q.  My dew point is running higher than normal, what can I check?

A.  Make sure the ambient and inlet temperatures to the dryer are not running above 100OF. If they are not then you have A problem with the refrigeration system that will need to be checked by a certified technician.

Q.  Why is my new unit tripping an E6 alarm on start-up?

A.  Check to make sure all of the tagged service valves inside the unit are opened.

Q.  Why am I getting water downstream of my dryer when the display is reading a good dew point?

 A.  Check and clean the Y-strainer on the drain line. If the strainer is clean, make sure both the float and the drain solenoid are operating properly.

Q.  Why is there a blinking "CF" or blinking High Temp light on my dryer?

A.  The coalescing filter element may need to be changed on the dryer. After the element is changed, you can clear the alarm on the SC/CT series by pressing and holding the "up" and "down" arrow keys on the board. Hot Gas series require pressing and holding of the "start/stop" key.

Q.  There are no lights lit on my control board even with good power coming into it. Is my control board bad?

A.  Chances are the board is fine, and the 1/4 amp control fuse on the board is blown. Change out the fuse and power the board up, if the fuse blows again, check the solenoid coils on the dryer for shorts.
